The winner advances to the grand final in Darwin - pitching to win up to $1,000,000 in investment*.

What is Croc Pitch?


Croc Pitch will take place as a panel-style segment at the 2022 Developing Northern Australia Conference.

This segment is designed for entrepreneurs or growing businesses that have a scalable innovation, product or technology that will provide a direct benefit to Northern Australia.

You will have 6 minutes to pitch your proposal to a panel of business leaders, investors, innovators, and government funding partners.

During your pitch, you will have the opportunity to introduce your innovation, idea or proposal, explain how it contributes to the development of our northern regions, and answer any questions from panel members. 

On the spot feedback will be provided during your presentation, and the winner will be announced in person at the closing session of the Developing Northern Australia Conference in Mackay on Friday 8 July 2022.

Entry Process

To enter Croc Pitch, entrants must submit an application containing:

  • Project title
  • 300-word project summary
  • 100-word author biography
  • Details on project location, sector, cost and funding requirements

Prize Details

 

16 successful applicants will each receive a complimentary registration and two guest passes to attend the Croc Pitch session and the closing session, in which the award winner will be announced. If successful applicants wish to attend the Developing Northern Australia Conference to take advantage of all other presentations, exhibition hall, food breaks and networking function, a discounted rate of $1,098.90 will be available.

The winner will receive mentoring, strategic advice, relevant introductions, and guidance by all panel members, enabling you to advance your project and take your pitch to Darwin Innovation Hub in October. You will pre-qualify for the Croc Pitch Grand Final and be awarded flights and accommodation for two people to attend the event in person. 

*Grand Final Prize is up to $1,000,000 in Venture Capital investment for your company (subject to due diligence).

What Happens Next?

Competition Period

 

(1) A shortlist will be chosen by an expert judging panel

(2) Shortlisted presenters will each receive a complimentary registration and two guest passes to attend the Croc Pitch session and the closing session, in which the award winner will be announced*.


(3) Shortlisted participants will receive a 6 minute presentation slot to pitch their project to the Croc Pitch expert panel.


(4) On the spot feedback will be provided to presenters during the presentation (4 minutes per presenter)


(5) A winner will be chosen by the expert panel following the final presentation on Friday 8 July 2022 through a process of choice, based on meeting all competition entry requirements.


(6) The winner will be announced at the closing session of the Developing Northern Australia Conference in Mackay on Friday 8 July 2022.


* If successful applicants wish to attend the Developing Northern Australia Conference to take advantage of all other presentations, exhibition hall, food breaks and networking function, a discounted rate of $1,098.90 will be available.

 

The competition starts on 7 April 2022 and closes at 5pm AEST on 6 May 2022.

  • Shortlist notified: Tuesday 17 May 2022
