Committee Profile

Nerida Horner is an Environmental Engineer, with over 20 years experience in water, energy and sustainability. She holds a Masters degree in Anthropology and Development and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering. Nerida is a Peter Cullen Trust Water and Environment Leadership program Fellow. She has held roles on Engineers Australia’s Northern Division (NT) Committees, and National roles on EA college Boards of the Sustainability, Environmental and Women in Engineering colleges, and has been a longstanding member of the Australian Water Association.

In her current role Nerida is leading the delivery of the NT’s first whole-of-government strategic water reform plan. Nerida has a track record in leading and facilitating collaborative and multidisciplinary research and operations in water, environment and infrastructure; applying multiple disciplines to solving on ground challenges in sustainable northern development. She has successfully undertaken technical, research and leadership roles in utility, NGO, research organisations and government across the Northern Territory, Western Australia and Queensland. Nerida’s technical background is in river, groundwater and drinking water management and Indigenous and community engagement.
