Tahna has over 25 years’ experience working with people within the agricultural sector. She is a fourth-Generation farmer, who joined NT Farmers in April 2022 from the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, The National Recovery and Resilience Agency to manage a CRCNA project called ‘Supporting Landholder Capacity for Quality Development Applications Across Northern Australia. Prior to that she worked as a Farm Liaison Officer for the whole of QLD housed in the Rural Financial Counselling Service and did over 11 years with the broadacre industry group, AgForce Queensland. Tahna and her husband, own and operate a farm situated in the Mareeba Shire (QLD). ‘Stockade Farm’ is a mixed operation including a pastured raised free range egg business. Tahna’s ethos has always been, ‘let’s leave this bit of land in a better shape than when we purchased it, sustainable is just status quo, we want to do better than that’.
