Popular with locals and visitors alike, Hearson’s Cove is a beautiful beach located on the Burrup Peninsula near Karratha.

Hearson’s Cove is a small sandy cove with steep rugged hills to the south and west and an outlook across Nichol Bay. It is the historic site of the landing of the Northwest Exploring Expedition led by F.T. Gregory in 1861. This expedition laid the basis for the rapid development of pastoral and pearling industries across the Pilbara region in the 1860s.

The Cocktail Function will provide a relaxed atmosphere for delegates to mingle and socialise. This function is a vital networking opportunity which will allow you to meet new contacts or catch up with old ones. It will provide you with the opportunity to build lasting relationships with key professionals and stakeholder groups.

Full payment for all tours must be received by Friday 21 June 2019. Any tour not paid by this date will be cancelled. No refund for cancellations after 21 June 2019. Minimum numbers are required for tours to proceed. Travel insurance required to participate on the tours.

Early Bird Registration – Delegates must have registered and paid by Friday 31 May 2019 to be eligible for the early bird registration. Registration payments not received by COB 31 May 2019 will revert to the standard rate.

Concession Registration – Concession registration is available for full time students and unwaged persons. A discount will be applied to the full registration only (not including the presenter rate). Please email the secretariat for further details – secretariat@northaust.org.au

Payments – Once registration is received a confirmation email and tax invoice will be issued. All accounts must be paid in full 30 days from the invoice date or 10 business days before the conference start date, whichever comes first. The organisers reserve right, without notification, to cancel outstanding accounts any time after 30 days from date of tax invoice being sent.

All registrations received after 3 July 2019 must be paid in full by credit card only. If payment is not received prior to the conference, access will be granted only after full payment is made via credit card or cash onsite.

Conditions – Please note that it is essential for all participants including invited speakers, delegates and presenters to register.

Refunds and Cancellations – The conference committee understands that circumstances can change. At any point prior to the event you are welcome to contact us in writing to nominate a substitute delegate at no extra charge. A full refund less a $150 service fee will be issued for cancellations received on or before 29 May 2019. Registration cancellation received between 29 May and 12 June 2019, will receive a 50% refund on the registration fees. No refunds will be issued after 12 June 2019. Non-payment does not constitute cancellation.

Accommodation – All accommodation bookings will be subject to the individual hotel cancellation policy. Please refer to the below:

Ibis Styles Karratha –  All accommodation bookings must be paid 14 days prior to arrival (25 June 2019). Any outstanding bookings will be cancelled at 13 days prior. No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 14 days of arrival.

Karratha International – All accommodation bookings must be paid 30 days prior to arrival (11 June 2019). Any outstanding bookings will be cancelled at 29 days prior. No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 30 days of arrival.

Disclaimer – The Conference organisers reserve the right to change activities, topics and presenters where necessary. “The organisers shall not be liable for any loss caused by the cancellation of the Conference where such cancellation is due to Force Majeure. The term “Force Majeure” means any circumstance beyond the reasonable control of the organisers including but not limited to War, hostilities (whether war be declared or not), terrorism, aircraft hijacking, military operation, riot, civil war, rebellion, civil commotion or unrest, Acts or Regulations of government, refusal to grant visas, explosions, natural disasters, transport delays, transport difficulties and the insolvency of airline carriers. The organisers will use all reasonable efforts to conduct the Conference despite the intervention or occurrence of any such cause.”
